Office Update - COVID-19

Meet Dr. McDonough

Mark W. McDonough, DMD

Dr.jpgYour beautiful, healthy smile is my passion. It's what I do every day and why I chose to become an orthodontist more than 25 years ago. I have been blessed with the greatest job in the world! To date, our office has “Made Great Smiles Happen” for over 6,000 patients, from children as young as age 6 to adults as old as 78, and many teens and those in between too! Whether we are treating a patient in the office or I am teaching the next generation of orthodontists, it is the same great feeling. There is no greater joy than to help create a happy and healthy smile.

Pioneering Innovative Technology

Our goal is to be an early adopter of new technology in the orthodontic profession in order to provide patients with the best and most convenient results. We were among the first orthodontists to incorporate digital photographs and digital X-rays for diagnostic and treatment planning purposes. We have used dental lasers for many years to painlessly reshape gum tissue. One of the current ”new topics” in orthodontics is temporary implants to move teeth in a manner not previously possible. I saw the promise of temporary implants and first used this technology in 2002, and it is just now becoming a ”standard of care” elsewhere. However, our office has been judicious in the use of technology since not every ”new fad” has value for our patients.

Patients are like Family

Medical decisions should be easy. If you take the approach to treat every patient as if it was your child, sibling or parent, the decisions you make become easier. Our patients are our family. We are delighted to welcome every patient into our office and enjoy getting acquainted with each one. My team and I take pride in maintaining a friendly and warm office environment, and strive to provide comfortable and convenient care, so that patients of all ages feel comfortable at our practice.
