Before & After

The following are samples of the results we routinely see in our office. These results are made possible by a proper diagnosis, well-planned treatment and a cooperative patient. Our goal is to create beautiful smiles in a warm, comfortable environment!

  1. Early Treatment (Phase I)
  2. Adolescent Treatment
  3. Adult Treatment
  4. Early Treatment with No Further Treatment Required
  5. Palatal Expansion and Over-bite Correction
  6. Impacted Canines
  7. Adult Treatment Morph
  8. Crowding Resolved Without Extractions
  9. Functional Treatment to Correct an Over-Bite

1. Early Treatment (Phase I)

Before 10 months later

This 10-year-old was concerned about her crowded teeth. She had Phase I treatment for 10 months using a palatal expander and limited braces. The majority of patients who can benefit from early treatment will also benefit from a 2nd phase of treatment once all the adult teeth come in.

2. Adolescent Treatment

This 12-year-old had an "under-bite" (bottom teeth in front of the upper teeth) caused by insufficient growth of the upper jaw. She required a reverse pull headgear, palatal expansion and braces to correct her jaw and teeth position.

3. Adult Treatment

Before 18 months later

This patient had excess space due to missing upper premolars. The spaces were closed and 2 implants were utilized to replace the missing teeth. We routinely coordinate your orthodontic treatment with your dentist and other dental specialists.

4. Early Treatment with No Further Treatment Required

Age 9 After first phase of treatment Age 13—no further treatment needed

This patient began treatment at age 9 with a first phase of treatment that lasted 9 months and required a palatal expander and braces on the upper four front teeth. At age 13 she was reevaluated and did not require any further treatment. About 20% of the patients who have early treatment do not require a 2nd phase.

5. Palatal Expansion and Over-bite Correction

Before After

This 12 year old had a significant over bite and narrow upper jaw resulting in prominent upper front teeth. She was treated with a palatal expander to improve the width of her upper jaw and then a functional appliance and braces to improve her over bite.

6. Impacted Canines

This 13 year old was not sure if he needed treatment. The panoramic X-Ray revealed a severely impacted upper left canine. Impacted teeth are common and it is important to begin treatment before age 14 because the success rate of bringing in the impacted tooth decreases after age 14. The above video shows how the tooth was uncovered and a chain attached to the canine and brought into the mouth.

7. Adult Treatment

This 24 year old patient “always wanted braces” to correct her crowding – Due to the severity of her crowding, 4 teeth were removed. She also had her teeth whitened to improve the discoloration of her teeth.

8. Crowding Resolved Without Extractions

Before 25 months later

22 months later - RPE + Braces

This 14 year old had a cross bite on one side. It is interesting to note that the non-cross bite side had a good “bite”. A palatal expander and braces were utilized to improve the function and aesthetics of his teeth.

9. Functional Treatment to Correct an Over-Bite

Before 25 months later

22 Mon – Twin Block + Braces

This 13 year old had an overbite caused by an under developed lower jaw. She required a functional appliance to improve the growth of her lower jaw and braces to improve the alignment of her teeth.
